Blue Rose
SCULPTURE
The blue rose above is a cabinet handle designed and carved by a student at a craft school. She was graduating from the school and supposed to receive a ceremonial staff as a symbol of a walking aid for her future and a memento of her school life. Her classmates worked together to build one. Someone turned a block of wood into a stick, then another one carved a wooden rose on the head top of the stick, and then the last one painted the rose with blue-colored linseed oil.
Mor Ro was the one who carved the rose, imitating the graduating student's favorite carving works. Since this staff was supposed to be a surprise, Mor Ro had to work late at night, avoiding the recipient's attention.
